The "Passions of Black Swan" event has come to a close after twenty of SL's most talented designers came together to bring you their own take on the magic of Black Swan through their creations.  Timeless Modeling Agency will showcase these designs one last time at 2 pm SL today to finish the event with a flourish.  Be sure to arrive early and follow the path to be able to have a front row seat as the models walk the runway one last time.

When Clio Cardiff was looking for inspiration to create her "Passions of Black Swan" dress, she found it at the very heart of the sim.  Her gown "Embrace" came from the statue in the middle of Black Swan depicting a man and a woman tightly holding each other.  The statue is one of the many pieces from Light Waves. This master of prim sculpture first envisioned Black Swan and gave it life, especially with his towering statues placed within it like the one Clio loves.

This morning, I wanted to try most of the dresses from the Passions of Black Swan collection but there are quite a bit of them :)

( 20 all together I belive ) So today I only covered 6 of them.

One of the reasons Rezzable decided to do the "Passions of Black Swan" fashion event was the smashing success of "Fashions Inspired By Black Swan" a few months ago.  Part of that success was due to the creativity of Callie Cline and Nebulosus Severine.  Both Callie and Nebulosus ("Nebby" for short) graciously decided to come back to Black Swan and get inspired by the passions expressed within the sim after they both had a great experience the first time.

My first reaction when I slipped into Munchflower Zauis' ("Munch" for short) dress that she created for Passions of Black Swan was simply "Wow."  And then I kept repeating "Wow!" to the point where Munch was worried my sanity had gone with my avatar's normal style of clothing (something between pretty princess and casual chic, for those who are curious).  Her "Magdalena" dress stole the show and has been hailed by several bloggers to be one of the most beautiful and bloody dresses on the grid.  

Many of the designers for "Passions of Black Swan" were inspired by the beautiful art created within it.  Now we'd like to see how Black Swan inspires passion within your photography!

Black Swan Photography Contest:

Jonny Dusk of 5ifth Order has created poses inspired by some of the art within Black Swan.  We're looking for pictures that bring this art to life using these poses that are available for sale as part of the "Passions of Black Swan" fashion event. Using any (or all!) of the Black Swan poses, become your own piece of art for your chance to win one of three prizes!  You can submit up to 3 pictures to the Passions of Black Swan Flickr group. until 11:59 PM Sunday, September 28th.  The winning photos will be announced during the Final "Passions of Black Swan" Fashion Show on Tuesday, September 30th.

Ivey Deschanel is the creative goddess behind the well-known and cheekily-named Sn@tch, serving up wicked hot punk/glam/goth/club clothing with attitude.  "Passions of Black Swan" was a natural fit for Ivey, as her designs are often infused with darkness, edginess, and touches of romance and retro glamour. Her devoted throng of followers (myself included!) were ecstatic when she agreed to participate.

I asked Ivey about how she became inspired to create the "Gravity" ensemble, her glamourous-with-aniedge "Passions of Black Swan" creation.  She had this to say:

Casa del Shai has been one of my most favorite of the favorite stores since I discovered it almost a year ago.  When I think of Shai Delacroix's designs, I think of edgy elegance and the very height of style in SL fashion.  High praise, yes..but if anyone deserves it, it's this long-time creator of the "classy pixels" (as she calls them). 

Imagine my excitement when we she agreed to participate in Passions of Black Swan!  I couldn't wait to see what would inspire her.  It turns out, the answer is...Tim Burton!  I talked with Shai as the designers were setting up, and she told me the statue of the ballerina within Black Swan mixed with her love of Tim Burton's "Nightmare Before Christmas" and "Beetle Juice" to create this dark ballerina dress she calls "Rosalind."  This dress is just the first peek at her soon-to-be-released new collection.

The first 'Passions of Black Swan' fashion show was a huge success: with most of the fashion designers present in person avatar and a max agent count - how many avies there are on the sim - of 87 avies we can't help but say: 'W00t!' The ladies from Timeless Modeling Agency did a great job and presented the dresses with all the flair they deserved.

Passions of Black Swan is getting ready for the big show. The fashion show is at 12pm SLT.  All the designers are hard at work rezzing their vendors, getting photos taken. Beatrix Newt our talented builder is working hard to make the last effects on the stage. Its all very exciting.  I have been taking some photos also I wanted to share with you.  I hope to see you all in the fashion show today.
