my rezzable year- 2008

What better place to start the recap of 2008 than in Times Square, New York City with a digital billboard of Rezzable's own Club Jaguar, built by Betlog Hax for the Hang 10 sim?

The Surfline cluster of sims certainly had their ups and downs, and it seemed everybody on the team had worked on them at one time or another...  In April of 2008, the Secondlife Surfing Association chose to use a custom designed Rezzable sim for their annual competition, and in June hosted an event that raised over 228,000L for Relay for Life.  rezzable.com/blog/adaire-decuir/surfers-become-warriors-fight-against-cancer-surfline

The cold season just started and our green friends celebrate Christmas with the help of their new friends from all over the world. They decorate the house, bake cookies in the big stove and play christmas elfs by making lots of gifts. The Greenies also found a new hobby ... winter sports like hoversnowboarding or icecreamball fighting. They do it with lots of passion and enthusiasm cause snow and ice are unknown things on their home planet.

Lets accompany the Greenies on their journey through Christmas and winter time, have fun with the lil green guys and take lots of memory pictures from their experience with frozen stuff and Santa Claus.

A special "Greenies Winter Experience" photo contest starts December 22th 2008 and ends January 19th 2009. We have 3 categories in which you can proof your photographer talent:

* Best Screenshot * New Year Celebrations

 Only one week left until  Christmas and our tree  still needs trimming!

Come on by for some nog and gingerbread men on Saturday, December 20th, between 12 noon and 2 pm SLT and help us decorate for the upcoming holidays.

Pavig and LittleToe will be on hand to put up some merry swag and help you put up some of your own ornaments. DJ Sarlah Maggs will be providing the music to get everyone in the mood.

Then on Monday, December 22, there will be a big party on the Greenies kitchen table from 12 noon to 3 pm SLT, hosted by Angelina Rhode with DJ Krakov Letov. Winners of the Greenies Virtual Holiday Decoration Contest will be announced and fabulous prizes handed out.

Last time, dear readers, I brought you an overview of the Greenies, a mischievous little alien race that inhabits Greenies Home Rezzable and Greenies Lawn Rezzable. During my time spent exploring these areas and getting to know them about as well as I could, I felt a desire building within me to join them. I know that may sound silly, dear readers, but joining them is far easier than you may imagine. The store in Greenies Home is jam-packed with all manner of Greenies to slip into, including homages to various shows and sci-fi extravaganzas, to name a few. Following my success in first contact I thought that I would return in order to mingle with them. I thought that I would come back in order to become one with them.

Christmas Greenie Avatars and tiny versions are in the Greenies Sim and its free for the first 500 lucky Greenies Lovers. These avatars are sooooooooo cute that will put you in the full Christmas mood. The bottles in the back are also a blast. When You click on them they play jingle bells.

So Hurry up and head over to the Greenies Sim.  The giver is placed in the shop area. TP there now....

Aliens are among us! Do not be alarmed, dear reader, for the aliens I speak of are not what you may typically imagine. They are not homicidal mindless animals with acidic blood or giant space monstrosities with tendrils and snappy teeth and a desire to open you up and get intimate with your entrails. No, the aliens I speak of are a mite less intimidating. They are the kind of aliens that sneak about when you aren’t looking and scribble on your notepads. The kind that put on your lipstick and make kissy faces. The kind your cat considers very, very, very good sport. The aliens I speak of are tiny, green and absolutely amazed at the massive beings known as ‘humans’. How they came to find the grid is unknown, but they reside now in Greenies Home Rezzable, as well as Greenies Lawn Rezzable, two massive builds encompassing all manner of things mundane and bizarre.

Plasma City is closing down at the end of November as we planned, hurry and check-out before it all gets zapped. There are many areas to wander through including 2 amazing rollercoasters. Grey sky, cold weather and short days... All a bit bleh ! At least, it's Friday and weekend is not too far away. Retail therapy is always a great relief of mood swings. I know not for all but at least for me. I also love bargains and little samples you grab in stores. So I thought about the likes of me and set up great lucky chair items in each store in Rezzable sims and set most prices to half price for the weekend. While you explore and have fun, do stop by at the stores and check out what you might find for your taste and yes at Half Price :)

You might feel like in heaven like in the photo taken by Angelina Rhodes in the Greenies sim. Did I forget to say that the entrance to Greenies sim is now free and we have got amazing Live  musicians every Monday at 12pm SLT and regular fun games with lots of great prizes.
