The Garden is a Metaverse Milestone: NWN

monkeying around at the Garden of NPIRL DelightsNice pick-up on the Garden and also some context for just how amazing the whole thing is!

Bettina Tizzy and her circle unveiled The Garden of NPIRL Delights, a sprawling continent of interactive art installations that could only exist in a metaverse like Second Life. A kind of Web 2.0-era Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney,...they have orchestrated wonders. Loosely inspired by Hieronymous Bosch's "Garden of Earthly Delights", construction began...[in April 08], and it's already flowered into a seemingly endless space of surprises.

Check the NWN post here. There is also a nice flyby vid there. But better yet...go to the Garden and check it out yourself now! Latest photos here. Tons more info and all the artists profiles are here on our little microsite.

The Garden is NOW OPEN -- hours of exploration and wonders! Go to the Garden Now!! Don't have an avatar yet?! Get your avatar one here.

Bettina's Garden Visit Tips

Bettina's garden visit guide helps you take it all inBettina's Guide for getting the most out of your visit to the Garden here. She sums up the 4 most interesting 'ways' to enjoy the Rezzable Garden of NPIRL Delights:

  • Take the Grand Tour
  • Wear the HUD
  • Use the Nifty Landmark-Ready Notecards
  • Walk down the green glowy paths

Explanation and an elaborate 'how to' for each exploring way.

The most frequent comment I hear from visitors to the Garden of NPIRL Delights is that they are "overwhelmed." I understand this. Four sims filled with the works of over 110 content creators - many of them quite complex - can have that effect. I worked alongside the artists for weeks, and I am still discovering new things. The good news is that there are several fantastic tools to make this easier for you. If I were to take you by the hand and show you the Garden myself, here is how I would do it.

C'mon, guys and girls, let Bettina hold your hand!
