The Greenies may "Green the Grid," but SL Residents are all about the orange when Halloween rolls around.   Costumes and spooky decorations along with all things pumpkin are popping up left and right.

I'm getting pumped for Halloween in SL myself.  The virtual world is a fantastic place to celebrate the holiday. You don't have to go into temporary Halloween stores advertised by a scary giant clown holding a sign by the highway. You don't have to pay $50 US for something mostly made of vinyl and itchy felt that you'll only wear once, and you'll only wear drunk because it's ridiculously skimpy. You can do so much more with your avi, who isn't confined by the limits of hair spray and doesn't have to worry about uncomfortable shoes!

Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting Takeshi in Crimson Shadow as I introduced him to our new line of male skins in Crimson Shadow. When I first joined SL, I quickly discovered Ivalde and her collection of discounted clothes.  At the time, I was living off sploders and didn't have much money to spend.  What I got from Ivalde only whetted my appetite for more, and when I finally did have the means to buy clothes other than those on the "discount rack", Ivalde was one of the first places I went.

The clothes that I had been drooling over for months did not disappoint.  Neferia was one of the few designers at the time, who had put in as much effort into her discounted/free outfits as she had her regular priced items. 

Winter saunters into the dressing room and sits down in front of the useless mirror. He picks up the style notes and scans them. Suddenly he freezes, and his eyes open wide. He turns to his typist and snarls "A pixie? You turned me into a PIXIE???"

Yes, I did. I figured it was the best way to display the Batpunk set from Crimson Shadow. You can't keep wearing red and black in these blogposts forever, you know. And you know you like wings.

When Clio Cardiff was looking for inspiration to create her "Passions of Black Swan" dress, she found it at the very heart of the sim.  Her gown "Embrace" came from the statue in the middle of Black Swan depicting a man and a woman tightly holding each other.  The statue is one of the many pieces from Light Waves. This master of prim sculpture first envisioned Black Swan and gave it life, especially with his towering statues placed within it like the one Clio loves.

One of the reasons Rezzable decided to do the "Passions of Black Swan" fashion event was the smashing success of "Fashions Inspired By Black Swan" a few months ago.  Part of that success was due to the creativity of Callie Cline and Nebulosus Severine.  Both Callie and Nebulosus ("Nebby" for short) graciously decided to come back to Black Swan and get inspired by the passions expressed within the sim after they both had a great experience the first time.

We are offically in Autumn now! In London, it feels like we have a never ending autumn all year around. I love the sunshine and everything that comes with it but I find Autumn quite picturesque and magical with leaves on the ground and the colors of Autumn with the rare sun reflecting on them . The other two favourite things in Autumn are my RL birthday and Halloween. So today I am in the Halloween mood.

I dont know about you but everytime I dress up for Halloween I still like to keep a fashionable look.  This year I would like this look to be in my RL Halloween costume. Any ideas where I can find something close to this :) For you who are interested to get that look in SL I will giveyou the tips.

When I first saw this outfit, I fell in love.  It gave me the feeling of a warrior woman in a far off world, clothing herself in what she finds: some feathers from a long ago bird, rocks that glitter, and the skin of a snake.  Her beauty she uses as her weapon, fluttering harmless looking fans as she flirts with her unsuspecting foe, before wielding her steel fans deftly to defeat him.

Black swan is of course, a showcase of perhaps the most stunning artwork in SL. Not just limited to sculptures either - "The Passions of Black Swan" brings together a collection from some of the most talented fashion designers, featuring stunning gowns, jewelry, hair .. and the reason for this post.. beautiful skins by Tuli.

The Black Swan skins are based on her latest release, Elizabeth, but with added black feather tattoos and stunning eye-makeup. The basics: there are five skin shades, and four different makeups, so that's a total of .. *counts on fingers* .. twenty skins altogther.
