Crimson Shadow had the distinction of being the venue where the Global Music Festival sponsored by Languagelab concluded with a brilliant live performance by Dolmere Talamasca, Toby Lancaster, Mimi Carpenter and Maximillion Kleene.  The sim was packed with fans, DJs, and participants of the Captured Proverbs contest, with standing room only ;-)  Dressed as Greenies, Dolmere, Toby, Mimi, and Maximillion, performed such classics from Pink Floyd, Snow Patrol, and Jason Mraz.  After the performance, the winners were announced for the Captured Proverbs contest. 

Last two days Greenies forgot to send gifts to those brave avatars who help to them keep their kitchen clean from the 8-legged pests we call 'virtual roaches'. Our cute extraterrestrials apologise, and wish to say they rectified that error and do appreciate the loyalty of their pest control troops! Making sure this will never happen again, and so you know when exactly you should go roach hunting, here is the list for prizes that will be awarded to the best roach-killer of the day for the month of October:

Rezzable is searching for the 12 best Machinimas made in SL.  From now till September 30th this blog is open to people nominating who -they- is the best 12 to be represented in the upcoming Machinima Festival.  Machinimas eligible for consideration are those that have been made between September 1, 2007 and September 30th, 2008 taken in Second Life.  So yes this means new, just released machinimas are eligible.  On September 30th, the nominations will be narrowed down to the top 24, where then voting will take place by YOU in deciding which 12 will participate in the festival.  When nominating a machinima, please provide a link.  Thank you and good luck to everyone!

Will Be Looking Up

  As everyone cranes their virtual necks to see the fantastical environments generated by the Rezzable Skybox Project.

 Thanks to all of the creators who contributed to the open call at the Imagine Sandbox- we've reached maximum prim capacity with all of your wonderful ideas!

 The skybox team has been busy evaluating your submissions, and we've had a heck of a time choosing a contest winner from all of the interesting and creative builds you've left for us.

  Fortunately, this is just the start of a much bigger endeavor, and if your entry did not qualify for the project launch, there's still plenty of time to develop your idea. Look for Rezzable Creators Group notices in the coming weeks for more information.

Lately, people seem to blame Greenies for everything: extinction of the dinosaurs, high fuel prices, ... and now also inventory loss. I must admit, I did chuckle twice or trice, when coming across these photographs in Dakota Yue's Flickr Stream. Although Greenies only wanted to lend a hand - and hoverboard-, using their speedy vehicles for the purpose of helping Miss Yue sort her inventory & move without her getting back injuries, she all of the sudden started screaming: 'Hold the thiefs! This is an inventory loss plot!'

Yesterday evening Rezzable's CEO RightasRain Rimbaud was a guest at Paisley Beeebe's Tonight Live. RightasRain talks about the concept behind Rezzable, introducing entrance fee at Black Swan and Greenies, revenue streams in SL, Second Life Art and the future of Second Life.

Take a look at the Tonight Live recording at the SLCN website and hear RightasRain's view on the SL economy, the l'Oreal promotion at Greenies, marketing in Second Life and virtual worlds in general.  Some interesting questions answered: 'What is the overall goal of Rezzable? How did it start? Why did it start? And what is the overall goal now?'

Hi all, I need some advice on virtual love! As you might know, I am currently engaging in a relationship with Miss Kryptonia, and don't be mistaken, I love her dearly! Although both our schedules are that busy that they do not always allow us to meet, I cherish every moment I get to spend with her. 

Greenies are looking for entertaining and enthusiastic staff members - DJ's and Hosts - to help entertain and enlarge an large audience of new residents as well as seasoned Greenies fans.  Payment happens in L$ and there is a wide range of extralegal benefits: cars, avatars, backpacks, clothing, ... depending on how enthousiastic you are.  We appreciate people that are not scared to take initiative, throw theme parties, enjoy sports (zapgun shooting, racing, skating, hunting roaches, ...) peepz that know how to get a crowd going. Evenly important is not being allergic to virtual roaches and knowing how the invite to group button works. Oh, and we just love people who want to give blogging about Greenies Events a try and can handle SL snapshotting & Flickr. Speaking & typing multiple languages is an advantage.

After the big success of the first Creators market the second one is now on tomorrow August 9th Saturday starting at 9 am SLT. It lasts till the next day 10th of August 9AM. Its a busy weekend on the imagine sim this weekend with back to back events as the SkyBox contest follows right after that and last till August 12th. On August 12 th, sandbox will be cleaned again so creators can go back to that playground for more building. Before the event just would like to go over some rules.

Ok, shameless plug here; todays my second rezz-day. YAY! But what keeps me in SL with all the grid issues, complaints and griefing? Is it the ability to play with my avie's look, explore, special events and concerts? Besides the social aspect that SL offers me, I love having my own pixelated land, any house my lindens can afford, decorated any possible way imaginable.
