End of GMF concert and Captured Proverbs winners!

Crimson Shadow had the distinction of being the venue where the Global Music Festival sponsored by Languagelab concluded with a brilliant live performance by Dolmere Talamasca, Toby Lancaster, Mimi Carpenter and Maximillion Kleene.  The sim was packed with fans, DJs, and participants of the Captured Proverbs contest, with standing room only ;-)  Dressed as Greenies, Dolmere, Toby, Mimi, and Maximillion, performed such classics from Pink Floyd, Snow Patrol, and Jason Mraz.  After the performance, the winners were announced for the Captured Proverbs contest

Winners 'Captured Proverbs' Contest, Congratulations!

Vint and I had a difficult time selecting just 3 from a pool of great pictures.  Everyone had created amazing pictures depicting a proverb of choice from their own country.  Each participant will receive a zapgun from Greenies as prize, and all 3 winners will have their winning entries displayed on the fridge at Greenies and Cannery.   Now without further ado, on to announcing the winners, as I'm sure you all are anxious to know!

First place goes to Vye Graves with her "Good Fences" entry.  Vye made good use of things that tend to be bothersome to others in SL to depict the proverb, "Good fences make good neighbors".  She won 30,000L$ Cash Prize, a Greenies Avatar of choice, a Darklands outfit of choice, a Stratos Car, a brand new Greenies Midnight Hoverboard, and an item of choise from Tunnel of Light.

Good Fences

LittleToe Bartlett received 2nd place for her "chicken" entry in depicting the proverb "don't count your chickens before they're hatched".  LT used a greenie to replace the chickens in this proverb and who can deny a greenie?  LT gets 10,000L$ Cash Prize, a Greenies Avatar of choice, a Darklands outfit of choice, a Stratos Car, a brand new Greenies Midnight Hoverboard, and an item of choise from Tunnel of Light.

3rd place was given to Clumsy Dumpling for his fun interpretation of "Eine Schwalbe macht noch keinen Sommer", with a literal translation of "One swallow does not make a summer", which means don't jump to conclusions.  Vint was quoted as saying "He used humour to make his point/proverb clear: the bird that looks like 'what the hell is that human doing?!' is awesome. Detail of the clothing on the side, great use of pose/animation."  The only critique that the jury panel could find with this picture was WHY? Clumsy had on underwear beneath his kilt!  Clumsy won 5,000L$ Cash Prize, a Greenies Avatar of choice, a Darklands outfit of choice, a Stratos Car, a brand new Greenies Midnight Hoverboard, and an item of choise from Tunnel of Light.

That was a really fun idea for a photo contest. Also fun stuff to win.
I was just surprised that all the stuff (besides the l$ and the zap gun) seems to be entirely made of invisprims. :-D
