When I first joined SL, I quickly discovered Ivalde and her collection of discounted clothes. At the time, I was living off sploders and didn't have much money to spend. What I got from Ivalde only whetted my appetite for more, and when I finally did have the means to buy clothes other than those on the "discount rack", Ivalde was one of the first places I went.
The clothes that I had been drooling over for months did not disappoint. Neferia was one of the few designers at the time, who had put in as much effort into her discounted/free outfits as she had her regular priced items.
One of my favorite aspects of Ivalde, is the wide range of eras and styles that Neferia has offered. So when I heard that she was going to be one of the designers participating in Black Swan, I eagerly awaited to see how she would interpret Black Swan. Would it be a modern confection, a civil war gown, or possibly 50s cocktail dress?
What her creation turned out to be was something I hadn't expected. Neferia has captured a perfect balance between the old and new. A corset which is sexy while elegant spans both today and yester years, has been paired with pinstriped capris to give the corset a modern twist, and for the more nostalgic, a full skirt for a visit to Caledon or Babbage.
