Yeah sure, blame Greenies!

Lately, people seem to blame Greenies for everything: extinction of the dinosaurs, high fuel prices, ... and now also inventory loss. I must admit, I did chuckle twice or trice, when coming across these photographs in Dakota Yue's Flickr Stream. Although Greenies only wanted to lend a hand - and hoverboard-, using their speedy vehicles for the purpose of helping Miss Yue sort her inventory & move without her getting back injuries, she all of the sudden started screaming: 'Hold the thiefs! This is an inventory loss plot!'

Please, behold the photograph proof of what Dakota Yue calls the 'Inventory Loss Reduction Initiative', and judge for yourselves!

Suffering from inventory loss?

Before blaming Greenies, there are a few things you should check, that could be causing the disappearance of your precious virtual possessions:

  1. Ask your friends that have 'modify rights' over our objects if they did not by accident move them.
  2. Check your 'lost and found' folder.
  3. You did not by any chance drag a no-copy transfer object from your inventory on an in-world object, adding it to that object's inventory and making it disappear from yours?

This are just a few of the causes listed at the SL wiki page. There you can find tips how to best search for missing objects - in-world as well as in your inventory - using beacons, visible alpha (highlight transparent), ... and how to file a support ticket if your quest for retrieval yields to nothing. Bonne chance!

Hmmm... I've never caught any

Hmmm... I've never caught any sneaky Greenies pilfering objects from my inventory (dunno about those roaches, though--they look pretty shifty to me).  Poor little Greenies, though--look at 'em, they were only trying to help...  either that, or they might've been rummaging through those boxes looking for Powdered Turnips.

Could be ! But it could

Could be !

But it could also be that a certain neko is pulling the strings behind the scenes, and is just trying to save the neck

Miss Dakotah, this Neko is

Miss Dakotah, this Neko is definitely innocent of pulling the strings. We only speak out in their defense, because they do not know how to blog yet. Besides, I already have enough boxes called 'object' in my inventory, do not need more. Would even not mind to inventory loose a few. :D

He's not stealing, he's

He's not stealing, he's taking samples back to the mothership for scientific testing.  He'll return them . . . eventually . . . in a few dozen pieces.
