Italians, are, notoriously, world-leaders in fashion. It's something in their blood, effortless elegance. Even outside of the great Italian fashion hubs of Milan, and more recently, Rome, a glance around the piazzas, restaurants, and streets of even a small town will generally indicate that Italians are forerunners of sophistication and style, the everyday adherent to fashion following the trends that suit them, highlighting their own strengths and concealing their flaws, while still impeccably groomed and their outfits perfectly put together.
Italian fashion has often been referred to by commentators as a way to social redemption, as it confers a certain degree of class on the wearer. Naturally, the men and women of Italy have had some of the best fashion visionaries watching over them in their quest to look incredible, from one of the pioneers of modern fashion, Elsa Schiaparelli, who shared a professional rivalry with even Coco Chanel, to the venerable fashion houses whose names are known the world over, Versace, Armani, Gucci, to young brands like Diesel.
Happily, we in Second Life can take advantage of Italian fashion expertise without having to leave the comfort of our homes, and nowhere more so than with the stunning work of Sissy Pessoa, who has been bringing the timeless luxury of modern Rome to Second Life through her brand, Baiastice, and has created two fantastic high-fashion outfits for Rezzable's 'Fashion Inspired by Crimson Shadow' event.

Georgette & Satin Black
is bursting with stylish options of how to wear it, coming with two options of shirt to wear, pants, skirt, sculpted belts, two options of collar, sculpted shoulder puffs, sleeves and an amazing hat. Divided into two parts, the sides of the dress are formed from a jewel-covered fabric that looks as though it was cut from the night sky itself, a trillion twinkling stars, the texture in itself a masterpiece, the central portion of the dress a dark, rich, more burgundy-toned black silk, making a striking contrast to the sides. Displaying a typical Italian flair for structured garments, the shoulders are enhanced with sculpted attachments, and the cuffs of the sleeves are finished with layers of sheer fabric draping down and secured with ribbon to match the central part of the dress. The rich skirt is floor-length, but more sleek than the traditional ballroom skirt, and the two collars included feature firstly a softly draping cowl, and secondly, a lavishly dramatic high collar. Further setting this dress apart is the high fashion sculpted hat, as part of the ensemble, which ties under the chin, and has an exquisite veil of black lace bordering the wearer's eyes and adding an air of mysteriousness.

Leather & Gazar Lace
is an astounding 23 piece special edition set, and virtually a wardrobe in and of itself. First in the many ways to wear this outfit is the plain leather option, a beautifully textured, sleek, sexy dress that means business, with shoulder prims evoking a military style with it's buttons, and a full two-toned leather skirt, the long-sleeved leather top, with it's structured highwaist belted effect, and Edwardian style buttons to the back, can also be worn with the two-toned pants or system skirt, for ever more looks, and with the inclusion of a large-buckled prim belt, the possibilities seem endless. Now, pay attention here, this is where it gets beautifully complicated. The sleeves can be exchanged for amazingly patterned shiny sheer lace ones, with matching gloves, extravagantly lace trimmed leather cuffs, and the addition of the dramatic wide collar, which itself is dripping in ruffles of black lace, sculpted black roses, you have the makings of an alternatively demure offering, and that's before you get to the second, layered, black and silver lace prim skirt, and the wreath of glossy black sculpty roses at the waist, and the possibilities really ARE endless.
Classic Italian style needn't be limited to those born into the lifestyle, and the very wealthy, it's right here at the Crimson Shadow boutique, and with
so many choices of how to wear these outfits, you're sure to find at least one way that you love.
