We are pleased to open a new photography show today featuring the work of Laurah Oh called "Fairy Fantasy". Laurah is a top Flickr artist and has also been bold enough to mix her rl photos with her sl ones on her stream. The show is set in the first room of the Dagger Eye Gallery and then the photos continue across the 7 rooms--each a different setting. See also the photography from Melodious Source still up from her exhbit. We are inviting more Flickr shooters to use the rooms also for the future.
Visit the show--the rooms start empty and rezz in front of you. Your avatar will get quite a work out traveling across scenes and settings. You have to let go a let your avatar drop and wander the spaces. The last room is a hot one also! ooolala...;0
Dagger Eye is our experiment in making 2D art into something interesting in the 3D world. It is great to share the experience of seeing an art show with other people and having the immersive impact of being taken to a wonderful space. We also run parties concurrently with the shows so there is often live music event to go with this. But is that enough to make it worth visiting inworld as oppossed to trawling through Flickr which is fast, cool etc. (and if you don't have it already get the xlent cooliris plug-in for ff)? What makes inworld so exciting really? For me there is still a sense of going to see a show that is better than scanning it on the web. Also of course meeting the artist in real-time is special.
read a blog somewhere (%))) that said SL was really like immersive photoshop--but is immersive flickr more fun?
vist the Dagger Eye Gallery now
