Stomping Around the Grid in Crimson Shadow Boots

The wonderful thing about blogging for Rezzable is that each item I pick to feature gives me a completely different starting place for the outfit that I build around it. This week I began with a formidable pair of buckled boots from Crimson Shadow, which lead me straight to a rocker chick style. The boots are chunky and heavily buckled—they almost overwhelm my short avatar, and I love the look. They come in three sizes and are copy/mod—a rarity in SL shoes—for a perfect fit. Boots on, I worked from my feet on upward: The jeans are from Iki, already fit to slip into boots, and they're currently free at Torrid Midnight's Chartreuse location. Iki was a cooperative effort between the creators of TorridWear and PixelDolls, and meshes the two brands in clean detail, careful shading, and a slightly hand-drawn style. The rest of the line is now deeply discounted, including the undershirt I wore here. It comes in two transparencies on all layers, and is perfect for layering and mixing in to other outfits. Over the top I wore a tank from Celestial Studios. The CS tanks and camis are wonderful separates and I get a lot of use out of them; here I tinted the Nightfall color to an even deeper black.

Hair and accessories add an edge and finish out this outfit. I chose a skin (an Another Skin mod I made myself) with unforgiving dark eyeshadow, and added a black manicure from Sin Skins. This outfit almost required a tattoo; I chose one from Garden of Ku, which has a delicate leaf and flower motif (to contrast the outfit) in black (to match it). The eyecatching hair is from Deviant Kitties—I don't wear DK hair often because it doesn't come in a plain red tone that I like, but whenever I do wear it it makes a statement, especially in the dramatic Fire texture. I love this style, which is shaggy, edgy, and still tied up in a feminine partial bun. With my trusty collar from Sensations and my favorite piercing, a modded double lip ring by DEEKS, I was ready to go out and stomp around the grid.
