Surfline's Bikini Contest Announces Winner

One of the hardest parts of running a contest is getting people involved, interested, engaged. Once the involvement is in place, then its keeping the attention and focus and goal in sight. In a virtual world, brimming with so much to do, see and explore, the question begs to be asked, "What event can engage guests?"

The answer, my friend, is 'bikini contest'! Not just any bikini contest, but Surfline's "Build Your Own Bikini" contest. Its hard to deny the appeal of dancing at the beach, virtual or not, with friendly, funny bikini-clad females showing off their PS or GIMP abilities. This contest wasnt limited to females only, men had the option of building the bikini and having their friend / girl friend / partner / friendly-friend / friend-with benefits / et. al. model it for them to be entered.

Judging is another issue. How do you decide between two equally cute bikinis? In a society of "I'm special, you're special, we're all special" how can a judge decide who's bikini fits the bill? Is it color, style, cut, fit, overall appearance or does it boil down to just preference? These questions are enough to make one's head hurt. Thankfully, I was not a judge! I enjoyed the contest, content in my "own" bikini ((nods to Vint Falken)) and danced to the music of Aerlinniel Vella, while watching everyone else have a great time as well. Oh, who won? There was no way the judges could chose between the contestants, Velvet Beaumont and Diva Tuqiri, and luckily they didn't have to. Both walked away with a shared prize of $1,000L. CONGRATS to both of you!
