The "Fashion Inspired by Crimson Shadow" begins today at 12 PM SL in Crimson Shadow with a four hour long preview for invited guests to the tunes of DJs Bianca Darling and Azu. After getting a glimpse at the designs that will be featured today and during tomorrow's fashion show at 2 PM, I couldn't be more estatic. There's a wide variety of styles and creations for just about anyone to find their own inspiration just in time for Halloween!
One outfit that I haven't taken off since I got it is Ivey Deschanel's "The Baroness." Ivey Deschanel, the genius behind her popular shop Sn@tch, was inspired by her love of the clothing from the 1870's western expansion and the gold rush era. She hoped to convey through her design opulence and her rich textures and level of detail certainly achieves it in spades!
The fishtail style dress creates a feminine silouette, hugging the curves and glittering with the beading woven into it. The netting underskirt moves beautifully, swishing around the ankles. The velvet brocade short jacket with prim button cuffs has a single button closure and an attached pewter and ruby cross necklace. The plush fur collar and opera-length, crimson gloves are optional but are my favorite parts of the look. I also adore the tiny velvet top hat with feathers that wave gently as your avatar moves.
I wore Stephanie Misfit of La Sylphide's "Woe Is" skin, one of the three she created exclusively for the "Fashion Inspired by Crimson Shadow" event. The skin is a part of her "Erin" series that blends hand-drawn and photosourced textures to create a gorgeous, glowing look that I have been a fan of since it debuted a short while ago. It features a brand-new paler skintone that's just right for the feel of Crimson Shadow. The smoky, tear-stained eye makeup and lightly powdered face compliment the dramatic, blood red lips. The overall effect is one of lost innocence mixed with mystery and high glamour. The other two skins she created, called "Porcelain Heart" and "The Mire" are equally as stunning and will be featured on rezzable.com soon!
Ivey also created "The Baron," the male version of her Crimson Shadow-inspired outfit and one that is equally as opulent. I asked Lazarus Charron, one of Rezzable's newest bloggers, to pose with me to show both outfits together. They work beautifully and aren't too matchy-matchy, so you and your man can show up to any event with style instead of kitsch.
The Baron is an elegant suit with a red velvet brocade vest and a pinstriped shirt with bloused sleeves and a high color. It also has a loose tie with a ruffled lace cravat and a blood red linen scarf waist. The smooth black leather, button flap pants can be worn inside or over boots, and the ensemble also includes a red velvet top hat and short red gloves.
Lazarus is also wearing the Draconic Lioncourt for Crimson Shadow "Streak" skin that is available for purchase in the Crimson Shadow Boutique.
Can't make it to today's event? No problem! Stay tuned to the web site for details about upcoming fashion shows for the "Fashion Inspired by Crimson Shadow" event that lasts until Halloween.
