One of the reasons Rezzable decided to do the "Passions of Black Swan" fashion event was the smashing success of "Fashions Inspired By Black Swan" a few months ago. Part of that success was due to the creativity of Callie Cline and Nebulosus Severine. Both Callie and Nebulosus ("Nebby" for short) graciously decided to come back to Black Swan and get inspired by the passions expressed within the sim after they both had a great experience the first time.
A New Concept
With a new theme came a new concept. There's so much magic in Black Swan that it can almost be overwhelming. Callie described the creative process she and Nebby went thorough to get to their finished pieces. Callie said, "At first as the theme was "passion," my mind naturally went to "hot", "steamy", "lava", "red and black," etc. And so for a few weeks, I stumbled on sketches and stuff that reflected that... and was not happy at all with what was coming out. Nebby was feeling the same way... so we simple switched gears and just let ourselves, "get inspired", however that happens. After she passed me her necklace, (which i turned upside down and put on my head, like a crown...) a few ideas started to flow and "swan sirens" was born!"
Swan Siren & Swan Star
The concept of the siren isn't as overly foreign as one might think. In Greek mythology, sirens were dangerous 1/2 bird, 1/2 women. The Black Swan sim mixed with Callie's and Nebby's ideas and soon after, "Swan Siren" and "Swan Star" came together.
"Swan Siren" is unlike anything I've ever seen in SL and unlike anything I've seen Callie create. The skirt is made of flowy and fairy-like fabric. The glow outlines the shape of the legs to be subtly flirtatious, and the top frills light up the upper torso. Callie included many, many wear options too, so you can go from the glowing belle of the ball to pixie fabulous just by changing the skirt. Gorgeous wings go so beautifully with the dress, and her otherworldly green eyes enhance the magical quality of it.
Nebulosus' Jewelry
Nebby's jewelry is the perfect compliment. Her set has 33 pieces (YES! 33!) and features red, purple, and white gems that subtly glow. I love the tiara and necklace that goes so well with this dress, but this jewelry has shown up on many other blogs with all kinds of different outfits, showing off its versatility. The oversized gem on the ring enhances the delicateness of the hands, and several different styles of bracelets and bangles are also included. The dangly earrings and anklet are also gorgy.
Photocontest with Jonny's 'Black Swan' poses
I couldn't help but take some pictures within Black Swan with Jonny Dusk's poses that were created just for Passions of Black Swan. I've seen some amazing pictures already submitted to the Passions of Black Swan Flickr group for the contest and i got inspired myself! I think the combination of Tuli's skin, Callie's dress, Nebby's jewelry, and Jonny's poses makes for avatar art that fits right into the sim.
You can "follow the path" to find all of these creations within the Black Swan sim at the vendor's cove just until September 30th! Stay tuned for news of the final fashion show.

i LOVE black swan (well and pretty much all the rezzables sims excpet for "ugly". yeah i know you haven't heard of it, cuz there's not one! haha) and love being able to participate in their work this way.
i do think the passions of the greenies will by far surpass the elegance and beauty of all we've seen at black swan, i mean it's a natural no brainer, don't know why they did realize it first, but.. hehe, well... you know... art is subjective??? but c'mon, greenies in love? what could be MORE passionate and inspiring that that????? *imagines that green hot steam*
anyway, thanks again!!!
xoxo, caLLie
p.s. an attempt at humor was used in reference to greenies. no harm was meant and not greenies were harmed in writing this post.
