A Killer Masquerade Ball at Crimson Shadow

Fashion Inspired by Crimson Shadow has inspired more than just actual fashion.  It also inspired the urge to party!  Yesterday, Crimson Shadow played host to an invite-only crowd of revelers that included the designers who are participating in the event, bloggers, friends, and the occasional random but righteous person! 

The theme was a "Killer Masquerade," and the guests certainly looked the part.  Amongst squeals of "Ooh!" and "Wow" and the ever popular "Hoo!," Lokum Shilova was kind enough to take some pictures while everyone was looking all fancy and fabulous (just click the link to see all of em).  Considering the technological miracle it must have been to take pictures at all with the amount of people present, I'm obliged to show you a few while I wax poetic about the party.

It's Achariya Maktoum...as a boi?!  Known as "Ach" to her friends (probably because anything above four or five letters is way too burdensome to type out, which is why I'm mostly called Adi), she's one of my favorite http://www.achariya.net/ ">bloggers on the grid with a unique, edgy sense of style that I can't get enough of.  For reasons I'll chalk up to that killer creativity, she came as a boi in some of Silent Sparrow's newest designs, the "Entropy" suit, mixed with a few similar colored bits and pieces.  I had to remind myself she's not a boi and refrain from pawing at her as she walked through the door!  [grins]   Ach had this to say about the ball, "I'm glad my avatar can dance without me paying attention, because I was distracted by everyone's creative costumes."

Another cute couple of party goers were the Malicious Style girls, Phire Zuhra and SakuraDawn Lei, with Sakura's partner Sven Okonomi.  Sakura told me, "We had a lot of fun!  Everyone looked amazing in their masks and outfits."  All of them were a little shy, so I had to secretly spike the punch to get them to boogie with me.  [grins]  I'm just evil, aren't I?  What is it with you hermit designers!  Talk!  Actually, I'm exaggerating a little.  (Imagine that?!)  I was happy to be able to convince a few talented designers like these three to come out and see the virtual "sunshine" for a little bit and take a break from designing.

One of the most creative designers I've met in SL whose designs blow my mind (and my wallet!) is Trilochankaur Rehla of Nebuchadnezzar, or NDN, because again, it's a name over four letters!  Tri is one of the designers participating in "Fashion Inspired by Crimson Shadow," and you can read about what she designed here.  Tri was also very generous to provide one of the many exclusive gifties for guests.  Tri said, "The Party was stunning!  I was happy to meet important designers that make the dark side of fashion within SL look fantastic with some fun new people too.  I'm glad I could join this brilliant, magical world."  Well said, Tri!

One of the best parts of the whole event was the tunes that DJ Gecko Gorilla spun for the masses.  The G has his own unique style that he loves to call "bringing the pure rock fury" and rocked it hard for the party like he does for Crimson Shadow every week.  His set ranged from all-out hard rock to covers to everything inbetween with the perfect flow.  (And yeah, I might be a little biased he's the boyfriend, but I suspect you could get his fans to agree with me!)  Exhausted after playing his set, he told me while we hung out in our virtual apartment, "I was humbled at the opportunity to DJ for everyone who attended and planned this event.  The crowd was quite gracious and everyone was so well dressed.  Events such as these are what make being a DJ such a fun job."
